CoffeeFest™ Mediterraneo is the only South-East European regional bi-annual trade fair, a B2B event dedicated only to coffee and tea and related products.
With the help of leading coffee distributors in the Region (Atlantic Group, Strauss Adriatic and Nestle), Oivivio developed the CoffeeFest in 2012 as a B2C festival focusing on the end user – coffee lovers and coffee consumers. The first edition was a great success in 2014 that attracted over 18,000 consumers and coffee professionals. But even then, we noticed that there is a need for a stronger “professional” focus, so the festival in 2015 evolved into a hybrid festival / trade fair concept.
Starting in 2016 and repeating every two years, CoffeeFest is the only Regional Mediterranean coffee fair that brings together coffee and tea professionals from the 10 countries of the eastern Mediterranean region and the world.
Coffee Trends in South-east Europe
Coffee business in South-East Europe is growing and changing. Many manufacturers and distributors already grow in this growing market. Why don’t you join them?
There are three important trends in coffee consumption in SEE:
People drink more coffee. Data show that 10 countries of South-East Europe (population just over 50 million) consume just about the same amount of coffee as Italy, about 3.2 kg/capita for a total over 160,000 tones1.
Espresso and single-serve coffee is growing. Traditionally people in the Balkans drink “Turkish” style, low quality, mostly Robusta, coffee. But since the fall of Communism, espresso coffee is becoming more popular and espresso imports are growing.
Customers are becoming more demanding. As consumers are becoming better educated, they demand higher quality coffee that opens a number of high-end and specialty niches.
